2AM News: The week in review Oct.23-30

Self defense stories this week from Arkansas, Texas, Nevada. Michigan, Ohio, California and Indiana ... and FEMA gives the OK to residents in 'FEMA City' to possess guns! Meanwhile, in Thailand, the Queen urges locals to practice self defense, in Zaire, gun owners who have been refused licenses plan to sue, in Canada the Feds target gun firms for frivolous suits and in Australia 'licensed' gun owners get ready to have their 'storage facilities' inspected. In Brazil, in the week's biggest victory for the right to keep and bear arms, citizens soundly defeat the proposed nationwide gun ban at the polls.

Excellent commentaries this week ... on the recent legislation to protect gun manufacturers from frivolous suits ... at the expense of gun rights? ('S.397 - Victory or Failure?'', 'Legislation weakens gun rights', 'Did the gun industry sell out its best customers?'), the gun confiscation in New Orleans and by FEMA {FEMA's anti-gun posture puts rescue team, public at risk', Remember New Orleans') the failure of the Brazilian gun ban at the polls ('Brazilians say no to gun ban ', 'Brazil (gun) nuts? ') on
the Canadian effort to blame their homicide rate on America ('Don't blame American guns') and more!

The week in review: Oct.17-22

Good news from the dismal swamp of DC, as 'Congress OKs gun industry lawsuit shield ' and 'Bush finally does something right ' (that protects the gun industry from frivolous lawsuits intended to drive them out of business), from Georgia, where 'Houston County commissioners held off on approving an ordinance Tuesday that would ban residents from firing a gun within 300 feet of an occupied building' (due to determined organizing by a local resident, who packed the commission chambers with gun rights supporters) from Brazil, where the national victim disarmament bill is 'likely to be shot down' (due to the publicity efforts of the 'pro-gun lobby'), from Wyoming, where the ATF backs off threat of background checks, and Alaska where gun freedom takes effect Wednesday! In Baton Rouge, the Sheriff ' fesses up on FEMA gun ban ' (hopefully the voters will take heed and vote this fascist out next go round).

Self defense across the nation, in Maine, Ohio and Texas home invaders 'get what's coming to them' from armed homeowners, in Georgia a Marine is 'in the right place at the right time' to capture a crazed assailant in a WalMart store ... in South Carolina, an elderly store owner fends off an armed robber and in North Carolina a customer shoots a robber at a night club.

Horrible news in the publik schools ... students are being asked to sign a 'victim disarmament pledge ... another reason to get your kids OUT of the publik school system before their minds are permanently warped.

A great new action idea this week, 'My Bill of Rights Project' which plans to create 'Bill of Rights displays to be placed on public lands throughout America, beginning with those sites where displays of the Ten Commandments are currently found' ...(so folks can see the REAL basis of the 'law of the land')

2AM News: The week in review Oct.9-16

Self defense stories from Georgia, Illinois, Florida, Kentucky, Arizona and Indiana! In Florida, a pol 'goes after workplace gun bans ' ... but what about property rights? ... FEMA backs down on its gun ban in 'FEMA City' after 'pressure' from gun rights groups .... in California, the victim disarmers go after Eddie Eagle ... and Brazilians get ready to vote on a nationwide gun ban. Commentaries this week on 'being thankful for cerooked cops' (eh? You gotta read it!) . a 'lesson from the Third World about the value of gun control', and several commentaries on the idiotic Brady Campaign ad campaign in Florida. Plus, the opening salvo of L. Neil Smith's 'The family gunsmith' for do-it-yourselfers.

2AM News: The week in review Oct.2-9

Good self defense stories this week from Georgia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Nevada, Washington, Maryland, Virginia ... and three from California! In the continuing saga of the disarmament of disaster victims, apparently FEMA is now banning guns at the "FEMA City' compound outside Baton Rouge ... and the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) is going after them! FEMA again makes news by suspending the Phoenix Searxch and Rescue team ... for being armed. New draconian victim disarmament laws in the Cayman Islands, violence breaks out in Somalia as gov't thugs try to levy a new tax ... and the US Supreme Court refuses to block a frivolous lawsuit against gun manufacturers accused of negligence for firearms violence in DC. On the bright side, kudos to Anchorage Alaska for expanding RKBA to include concealed carry in city buildings!

Don't miss excellent commentaries this week on the possibility of RFIDs on your next gun, self defense, protecting gun makers, and my personal favorite ...the satiric 'Sunshine Gun Laws' by Alan Korwin and Mark Moritz.

2AM News: the week in review Sept.25-Oct.1

The big story of the week continues to be the successful lawsuit by SAF and the NRA to stop the gun seizures in New Orleans, with the Federal judge ordering the seized weapons to be returned. Lots of good self defense stories, from Colorado, Illinois, New Mexico, Texas, Indiana, Washington, California, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Florida, New Hampshire, Alabama, North Carolina ... and, from South Africa, the Phillipines and Kashmir!

In other news this week ... Gov. 'Terminator' would disarm the militia ... but in Canada, critics agree the gun registry is useless and compliance is 'virtually nil'.

Several excellent commentaries on the 'Reality of gun laws', 'What to do about terrorism' and 'In defense of freedom'.
