The week in review Dec.19-25

A day late this week, just got back from visiting relatives in North Carolina ... hope you all had a very merry Christmas!

Self defense stories last week from New York, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Oregon, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arizona, California, Arkansas, North Carolina, and Virginia! In Canada, the latest victim disarmament proposal has the unintended consequence of a 'gun buying binge', in the UK public support rallies behind a farmer who protected his property, and a householder who fires a gun at a burglar, while in South Africa, gun owners 'welcome a respite' ... a three month extension to 'relicense' their 'legal' firearms.The Scrooge of the year story goes to ... Romania, fir fining two TV stations for airing a 'gun toting Santa' publicity stunt. In commentary this week, don't miss Vin Suprynowicz on "The unlimited power of the sword", and Don Nash on 'Your federal file'.

Til next week (and next year!)

2AM News: The week in review Dec.11-18

Self defense stories from Virginia, Florida, California, South Carolina, Georgia, Colorado, and North Carolina, while in Texas, 'What one woman wants for Christmas: a returned gun' (the gun used by the Texas granny who shot the intruder hiding in her closet has YET to be returned to her has YET to be returned ...). In Canada, gun owners lobby against the proposed draconian victim disarmament laws, and, in South Africa, a long time gunowner explains why he is 'Ready to bite the bullet to get a firearm licence' as the Cory Maye story (the black man on death row in Mississippi whose 'crime' was shooting a police officer who burst into his home in a 'mistaken ID drug raid') spreads across left and right ends of the Net and our glorious President calls the Constitution a 'goddam piece of paper'. In commentary this week, don't miss Vin Suprinowicz on 'Fans of a disarmed peasantry' and Jack Gantt's 'Chipping away at our liberties ' ... and let's all pitch in to help publicize the auction of Vin's 'The Black Arrow' to help buy cancer meds for Walter Bark.

2AM News: The week in review Dec.4-Dec.10
Source: Second Amendment News Digest

Self defense stories from South Carolina, California, Texas, Michigan,Indiana, Alabama, Virginia, Arizona, Tennessee and Nevada, while in New Jersey, a convicted home invader blames the victioms for his 'problems'. In South Africa,as the 'licence' (read confiscation) deadline looms, some gun owners take their case to court while others intelligently hide their guns 'under their beds' (to the gov'ts dismay.) In San Francisco, some intelligent residents begin to worry about their safety if the recently passed victim disarmament bill stands, while in Canade, liberal pols promise complete disarmament if elected.

My favorite Christmas card of all time ... 'Armed Santa Claus protects children',and, just in time for Christmas giving, a cool new T-shirt from JPFO 'Boot the BATF'.

In commentary this week, Vin Suprinowicz asks 'If a black man is armed, is he a criminal?', Gerard Valentino hopes 'for a return to the wild west', Barry Hess gives us', the 'NRA's newest convert' Clara Cobb tells us why 'even a hippie needs a gun', Jennifer Freeman points out that 'The best way to deter not only terrorists, but also rogue governments and ordinary criminals is by activating the citizen militia', and the story of Cory Maye, on death row in Mississippi for shooting a police officer ... who broke into his home in a 'mistaken
identity' drug raid;

In actions this week, David Codrea asks for help in combatting the 'New York Post's all-out attack on the 2nd'; the GOA alerts us that 'Battle for gun records privacy resumes' and, don't forget to celebrate December 15, Bill of Rights Day!

2AM News: The week in review Nov.28-Dec.4

Self defense stories from Alaska, Florida, Nebraska, Ohio, New York, Washington, Missouri, Texas, Mississippi, and Indiana, while in South Africa the police steal, destroy thousands of firearms guaranteeing those gun owners will not be able to defend themselves, and police in America 'rethink' the 'always armed policy' while a gun battle IN a Mexican prison kills 8 (while authorities investigate HOW they got the guns in prison.) Excellent commentaries from Howard Nemerov 'From gun ban to Taliban', Malcolm A. Kline 'We the proleteriat' and R. Lee Wrights 'The hideous consequences of good intentions'.
