The week in review August 20-27
Self defense stories this week from 16 states .... Arizona, North Dakota, New Mexico,South Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana. Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Pennsylvania, Indiana,California, North Carolina, Ohio, Florida, and Illinois. (My personal favorite, the armed 72year old bystander in the New Mexico Wal Mart who took out the guy who was attacking his ex-wife with a knife.) In gun grabber stories, South Africa wins the 'unintended consequences award' this week for the chaos caused by its draconian new gun laws ...'experts say at the rate that renewals are now being handled, it will take literally thousands of years to complete the process'. (Or, maybe that was the intended consequence?).
Kudos to Alabama for filing legislation to broaden self-defense rights by 'preventing people from being taken to court by the family of a deceased intruder'. And kudos to CSN News for publishing the story that's been making the rounds of the gun blogs, on the persecution of gun shows by the ATF and Virginia police.
In other good news, the RRND news feed IS up and running again this week (check out the new version of RRND, you'll like it!) ....Unfortunately, the 2AM page template is not ready yet (it will be soon, I'm told) ... meanwhile, keep checking the 2AM News blog for daily updates. When we can move back over to the 2AM News site, I'll post an announcement here.
Til next week
For freedom!
